Introduction
The parts of a story are presented, beginning, middle, end and the thread is connected with the story.
Learning Objectives
- Students learn multiple phrases with the word “thread” which is connected to fairy tales.
- Students retell the story with the help of the thread and the various little materials tied to the thread.
Process
The teacher shows some phrases written on cards- related to the thread. Red thread tied, Gripped from the beginning, The thread of a story, Hair tangles, Scenes unfold, Unrolled…. We explain what the phrases mean and connect the fairy tale with the thread that has a beginning, a middle and an end. Each story that will be created will be "wrapped" in a thread and kept in a box. Each box has the title of the story written on it. The teacher takes one of the ready-made boxes in front of him and reads the title e.g. "The forgetful". The children see that on the thread various small objects are tied, eg. Eggs, beads, feathers, buttons, foil, colored papers, sheet, etc. The teacher tells the story starting from the first tied material. Each subsequent material - part of the story - represents a hero, an object, a scene, or an emotion. The children try to retell the story with the help of this thread. Then the teacher takes another box with another title e.g. " "The Longhair girl" and the children using the thread that is contained in the box try to create a story, based on the various materials that are tied to the thread. After listening to the stories made by the children, the teacher tells the original story "The Longhair girl".
