Introduction
Children play games related to books in order to get to know each other better. They find common interests in their hobbies and discover their preferences in books.
Learning Objectives
- Children get in touch with books in a playful way.
- Children to get in touch with all kinds of texts-books eg Novels, multimodal texts.
- Children realize that books are fun.
- Books become the connecting link between children
Process
Group work (the students choose a book according to their interests and preferences) A. Book games e.g. Book carousel (children sit in groups and take library books, view them and exchange them in a circle). B. Dominoes with book covers: children try to find something in common in pairs of books and make them like dominoes, e.g. color, subject, one word in the title, etc) C. Become a Book Detective: children discover the book that will be assigned to them depending on the title, content or summary. D. Recommend a book: the children bring a favorite book to class and explain in very simple words why they chose it E. Book Followers: The books are placed on the floor and the children move from their book (one by one) to another that will convince them that it is nice and worth reading. The children try to promote the book they brought (winning votes). G. Book Talks: The children discuss the book they have chosen.
