Introduction
The students proposed 3 books, they were divided into 3 groups, thus forming reading tandems. The members of each tandem read one of the 3 books. Then, the books read were presented and they were followed by a short debate. The presentations were made orally, in front of the class, in the form of a project, a poster, and a Padlet was created online.
Learning Objectives
- To develop the habit of reading;
- To discover a new world through which they can understand the principles of healthy living, explained in a way appropriate to their age
- To learn to express themselves correctly, easily;
- To share with other children the passion for reading and free discussions;
- To promote book reading as an alternative to the problems and challenges of the digital generation;
- To approach books in a creative way and inspire each other to discover the enthusiasm of reading;
- To be actively involved in discussions designed to lead to the communication skills development.
Process
1. Debate on the need to read; 2. Proposing a list of additional readings; 3. Formation of the reading club; 4. Reading the books by the members of each group; 5. Meetings for discussions and presentation of the books; 6. Conversation art development games - where students from each group played the role of the author or favorite characters in the book they had read. They also answered questions from other colleagues. 7. Writing a diary of conclusions (during or at the end of the reading club); 8. Book reviews in front of the class; 9. The members of each group make a short dramatization after they read the book; 10. Debate. Assessment: making book projects, drawings, a photo album and a movie with the presentations of books, creating a Padlet, making an online book Book Creator, PPT.
